Lidia Morawska is a Distinguished Professor and Australian Laureate Fellow in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
She is also director of the ARC Training Centre for Advanced Building Systems Against Airborne Infection Transmission (THRIVE).
This is where she is leading the IAQ revolution. “I firmly believe the centre will be a catalyst for revolution and bring us closer to clean indoor air becoming the norm,” she says.
Recognised as one of the world’s foremost authorities on the impact of airborne particles on human health and the environment – Lidia believes it should be mandatory for building occupants get real-time information on the quality of the air they are breathing.
She is leading an international call for a ‘paradigm shift’ in combating airborne pathogens such as COVID-19, demanding universal recognition that infections can be prevented by improving indoor ventilation systems.
Her dedication to this field of work has made her a HVACR legend.
