For more than a decade, Alison Scotland, has been making a difference in the HVACR industry.
Alison is currently the executive director of the Australian Built Environment Council (ASBEC), a peak industry body for the built environment.
She began her career working in standards development before she made the decision to commit to helping industry transition to a sustainable, decarbonised, resilient future.
“I find my current position incredibly rewarding,” she says. “Our membership consists of industry associations, professional bodies, academia, non‐government organisations and government observers who are involved in the planning, design, delivery, and operation of our built environment. Amazing things happen when these leaders get together to solve the challenges that face our industry. I’m very lucky to have such a vibrant and engaged network.”
Asked what she loves most about HVACR and Alison says it is the people. “It is the people working in HVACR that make it so special. From my first day on the job I was made to feel welcome and respected.”
