Copeland has launched the Sensi Equipment Interface Module (Indoor + Outdoor).
This new interface module eliminates the need for pulling additional HVAC wiring to the thermostat, helping solve installation challenges currently faced by contractors during system upgrades in light commercial or household applications, including those using heat pumps.
As contractors look to upgrade customers to heat pump systems or integrate indoor air quality (IAQ) products, they often encounter challenges, as this equipment almost always requires more wiring than the equipment it replaces.
The Sensi Equipment Interface Module (for use with Sensi Touch 2 smart thermostat) is an alternative to having to pull additional wires for the upgrade.
When paired with a Sensi Touch 2 smart thermostat, the Sensi Equipment Interface Module simplifies installation during system upgrades or when adding IAQ accessories in residences that do not currently have enough wires to power and control the equipment.
Dedicated wire channels keep everything secure, neatly organized and hidden from view, with no separate gateway needed to connect to Wi-Fi .
Sensi EIM enables the Touch 2 thermostat to manage your household IAQ through three universal terminals, supporting humidification, dehumidification and ventilation equipment. It’s compatible with products from other major IAQ manufacturers.
Tom Lorenz, director, product management, Sensi at Copeland, said that as consumers add sustainable solutions to their home like IAQ products, heat pumps and thermostats, the new Sensi EIM helps contractors simplify the process.
Waterproof and durable, the Sensi Equipment Interface Module is made for both indoor and outdoor use, reducing the amount of product contractors need to carry.
The module also comes equipped with Sensi Connect technology, leveraging a strong wireless sub-GHz connection to allow communication between products.
Compatible Copeland products include the Sensi Touch 2 smart thermostat, outdoor sensor and room sensors.
The Sensi Equipment Interface Module will also be available within Copelands free contractor branding program for thermostats, with the option to include a logo and/or company name, phone number, and website on the front of the Sensi EIM, keeping contractors top of customers’ minds when service is needed.
Copeland is also launching outdoor sensors to help ensure heat pumps receive accurate readings of the precise temperature and humidity level outside the house at a user’s exact location to control balance point and auxiliary lockout of a heat pump system when paired with the Sensi Touch 2 smart thermostat.
