Testo Australia delivers rugged, lightweight volume flow hood

Testo Australia this week released the testo 420, a Bluetooth-enabled flow hood weighing less than three kilograms. Available to HVAC technicians and other professionals throughout Australia, the device is equipped with a volume flow hood and 16 measurement points that record differential pressure, temperature, humidity and absolute pressure. When developing the testo 420, the company's aim was to accommodate HVAC technicians in need of accurate flow hood readings. To deliver this specificity, Testo designed the instrument so that it could attach and detach from a flow straightener. This feature not only delivers precise measurements, but also enables professionals to meet Indoor Air Quality guidelines. HVAC specialists often have to register air flow readings at inconvenient or even hazardous places. With this in mind, Testo integrated two ergonomic handles to the sides of the testo 420, allowing users to tilt the instrument to easily read the display. What if a HVAC technician needs to reach vents in high-ceilinged industrial facilities? Users can attach the volume flow hood to a tripod and remove the flow hood from the main device. Then, they may extend the tripod to cover the vent and receive the readings remotely. In addition, the testo 420 comes with easy app integration, thanks to its Bluetooth capabilities. Through Google Play or the Apple Store, technicians can quickly download the testo 420 app, and view real-time measurements through their smartphones. Designed for frequent use and rough working conditions, the testo 420 features 30 hours of battery life, and can operate in temperatures of between -5 degrees Celsius and 60 degrees Celsius. Although the flow hood comes with 2 gigabytes of storage, technicians can use Testo's cloud to: calculate the total volume flow/air exchange rate; and send measurement values to customers, building managers and other parties via email. The 420 is a testament to Testo Australia's ability to study the needs of the market and deliver a product that accommodates those requirements.
