Latest addition to sensor series
Distech Controls has introduced the second of two latest additions to the company's Allure communicating sensor series: the EC-Smart-Comfort.
This versatile communicating room sensor provides precise temperature sensing and fan speed control. In addition, it can be expanded with up to 4 Smart-Light or Smart-Blind add-on modules that allows for adjusting lights (ON/OFF or dimming) and shade/sunblind (up, down, angle rotation).
These modules can easily be added at any time by simply clipping them on, meaning that no additional wiring is required. In addition, by not having to install independent light switches and shades/sunblind switches with the EC-Smart-Comfort, one can significantly reduce material and installation costs.
With the easy addition of Smart-Light and Smart-Blind modules, the Allure EC-Smart-Comfort sensor becomes the front-end to all-in-one room comfort management, combining and centralizing all room functions. Additional occupant-focused features include:
Colored LED indicators (whose intensity can be customized) provide a clear indication of settings and status Rotary knobs to adjust set point offset and fan speed. In addition, the LED indicators can be configured in “Level Indicator” mode, blinking as each successive level is passed.
The EC-Smart-Comfort provides the market with significant installation savings, as the sensor models are available with 8 digital inputs for connection to existing or architect-specified light and shade/sunblind switches, or other room devices. This reduces wiring costs and installation time for both new and retrofit installations.
The EC-Smart-Comfort is compatible with the ECL series LONWORKS Controllers, ECB series BACnet Controllers and ECLYPSE series BACnet/ IP and Wi-Fi Controllers, including the Smart Room Control solution, a unified system for the control of HVAC room terminal equipment, lighting, and shades/sunblind.
The company's products and marketing vice president, Trevor Palmer, said the Allure EC Smart Comfort takes the unification of all room control elements to the next level.
