RLS press-to-connect fittings make reliable copper tube connections in just 10 seconds, saving significant time and labour costs compared to manually brazing joints in HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Using RLS press fittings means contractors no longer need to haul heavy tanks and other brazing equipment to and from the jobsite, no longer need to nitrogen purge, and no longer need to purchase and stock brazing materials. It all adds up to projects being completed faster and often with fewer people – meaning more jobs get done.

RLS fittings were specifically designed and engineered for the high pressures of HVAC/R. They are UL listed for pressures up to 700 psi, and have been in widespread use since their introduction in 2015.

Because the battery-powered press tool does the work, RLS connections are consistent and repeatable – and only require minimal training – compared to the potential for leaks due to inconsistent or inexperienced brazers.

In 8+ years of field use, more than 15 million RLS press fittings have been installed successfully worldwide. No other company can come close to matching this vast experience and track record of success.

Unique technology

Unlike the hexagonal press systems used in plumbing, the patented RLS press technology uses a double circular press – featuring two 360˚ metal-to-metal connections. Plus, the fittings start as soft copper and are work hardened during the press, creating a permanent bond to the tube. The complete circular presses result in a permanent mechanical joint every time, with no potential leak paths.

With an expanded offering of RLS-compatible jaws (manufactured by Klauke, RIDGID and Milwaukee), RLS fittings can now be pressed with most 19kN, 24 kN and 32kN press tools on the market.

That includes the RIDGID RP200 and RP300 series, the Milwaukee M12 and M18 series, as well as tools from Klauke, Rothenberger, Viega, Dewalt and others. That means contractors who already own a press tool will most likely only need to purchase jaws (and only in the sizes they use) to start enjoying the time-saving benefits of RLS fittings.

Biggest range

While other HVAC press fitting manufacturers have recently entered the market with smaller products lines that only go up to 1-1/8” or 1-3/8”, RLS offers a full range of fitting sizes from 1/4” to 2-1/8”.

RLS also has a full range of products, including couplings, 90˚ and 45˚ elbows, tees, reducers, reducing bushings, SAE/Euro flares and caps – as well as RLS-compatible Y-joints, P-traps, filter driers, ball valves and sight glasses. In addition, RLS supplies all the necessary tools and jaws, both individually and in convenient kits.

For those who are still brazing every HVAC/R joint, RLS press fittings offer a long list of advantages, including:

  • Connections in 10 seconds
  • UL Listed to 700 psi
  • No gas or brazing materials
  • No flame, no fire hazards
  • No nitrogen purging
  • Works in tight spaces
  • Millions of fittings installed
  • 15-year limited warranty
