Emerson has launched its new Copeland 110cc variable speed scroll compressor solution, manufactured in China and available for distribution.
This new product is engineered to help save energy and provide environmentally friendly improvements for a broad range of commercial air-conditioning applications including chillers, data centres and package air-conditioners.
Green building guidelines and codes are fast advancing in many countries. Australia’s $3.5 billion Climate Solutions Package to deliver on its 2030 Paris Agreement commitments aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 26 to 28 per cent of its 2005 levels by 2030.
States and territories have also pledged to reach carbon neutrality by at least 2050[2], however this will require access to products and systems that support this reduction of carbon emissions.
With building heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) responsible for around 20 per cent of electricity use in Australia, the HVAC industry has an opportunity to dramatically reduce energy use and contribute to national greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
In light of inititatives such as the CSIRO’s ‘Net Zero Energy HVAC’, Emerson has developed an integrated compressor technology solution that helps Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) create commercial air-conditioning systems that enhance human health and protect the environment.
The new Copeland 110cc variable speed scroll compressor solution delivers up to 30 per cent reduction in power consumption over conventional fixed-speed technology.
Compatible with multiple refrigerants, including R32, an environmentally-responsible refrigerant, Emerson’s integrated variable speed solution helps enable air-conditioning OEMs to meet energy regulations and building owners to meet future commercial building trends without sacrificing performance.
Emerson’s vice president of air conditioning and business development in Asia, Abel Gnanakumar, said the company has invested heavily in the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of the research and solutions centre in China’s Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.
He said 2021 marks the 100th anniversary for Copeland, a testament to Emerson’s commitment to provide best-in-class solutions that solve the toughest air-conditioning challenges.
