Carrier’s BluEdge service platform continues to expand offerings and geographical reach to support its customers globally.
The best-in-class service program that was launched for truck trailer customers in North America last year, is now also available in Europe and Australia.
Carrier refrigeration vice president of strategy and services, Bhasker Kaushal, said the rollout combines BluEdge, integrated with the Lynx digital solutions.
“The powerful combination of the BluEdge service platform, with actionable intelligence from Lynx, helps maximize asset uptime and operational efficiencies,” he said.
“Our customers are accelerating adoption of connected equipment, remote monitoring and advanced, analytics-based solutions that allow us to predict issues and proactively address maintenance needs. These uptime-focused solutions help ensure that food, pharmaceuticals and biologics are moved and stored reliably and efficiently across the global cold chain.”
The BluEdge service offering launched by North America Truck Trailer has received positive feedback. Truck and trailer customers in Europe and Australia are now able to protect their fleets with BluEdge service plans.
BluEdge is a three-tiered service model, with Core, Enhance and Elite levels designed to allow customers to select the level of service tailored to their needs.
BluEdge customers also have access to integration with the cloud-based Lynx digital platform that applies IoT analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence to deliver real-time visibility and insights.
These insights can be leveraged to better predict preventative maintenance opportunities and reduce operating costs for customers using the BluEdge service platform. The company plans to extend the BluEdge service platform to container refrigeration and commercial refrigeration customers in the future, offering comprehensive solutions for refrigeration systems over rail, road, sea and retail and warehouse spaces.
Carrier Refrigeration continues to innovate its predictive maintenance offerings. As an example, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is rolling out a Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) program that uses predictive AI-driven algorithms to proactively service refrigeration equipment in retail food stores.
The program is aimed at improving customer satisfaction levels by reducing equipment downtime. Last year’s pilot resulted in a 30% reduction in alarms related to equipment issues or breakdowns and a double-digit improvement in equipment uptime.
Carrier plans to expand this program to 10,000 stores across Europe by the end of 2023, and to-date has onboarded 1,500+ stores.
“Our BluEdge offerings will continue to evolve and expand to best meet the needs of our customers,” Kaushal said.
