Simmonds Heating & Cooling technician Ashley Kunze is in the final year of his apprenticeship and about to sit his capstone.
The 25-year-old learnt about the trade early because his uncle is a fridgie.
In fact, Ashley did some casual work for his uncle and realised it was a great job.
“After a few days on the job I never looked back,” Ashley says. “This job is never dull there is always something new to learn.”
Ashley says it is the constant variety that comes with each job that keeps it interesting.
“The jobs I do are always different and I am always seeing something new,” he says. “It is also satisfying to complete a job and do it well.”
Ashley says there is nothing more satisfying than a happy customer. “That is a really good feeling when the customer is pleased with your work.”
Looking ahead, Ashley says he will definitely stick with the trade and fine-tune his skills.
