Noppen Group technician Kyle Matthews says he always planned to do a trade but didn't know which one it would be. Straight out of school he went in search of an apprenticeship.
"Dad's mate offered me a job in air conditioning so I took it," Kyle says.
"I like doing repairs on units, recovering gas out of units, changing compressors and soldering."
Kyle says the most challenging part of the job is fault finding and reading wiring diagrams.
The Noppen Group provides service, maintenance, design, installation and HVAC certification at commercial buildings and industrial sites. This means Kyle gets to tackle all areas of the trade.
" I like doing the commercial stuff and the type of work I am doing right now," he says.
Kyle says he doesn't have any plans to pursue any specific areas of the trade but is likely to remain working in the commercial space.
