Noppen Group technician Blake Tattam has just turned 18 and is in the second year of his apprenticeship. Blake was lucky his father introduced him to the trade.
Straight out of school and Blake’s father was able to organise his first job. Blake has moved on since then to join the Noppen Group.
He was keen to broaden his skills and Noppen provided plenty of opportunities to work on different systems.
Surprisingly, Blake doesn’t mind attending TAFE describing the study as interesting.
“I like learning so studying isn’t a problem but its definitely the hardest part of the job,” he says.
Like most apprentices Blake prefers the hands-on work but understands TAFE is necessary.
Asked about the future and Blake says his apprenticeship keeps him busy enough.
“Right now my focus is on finishing my apprenticeship,” he says.
