KBR Commercial apprentice, Adam Yakan, grew up learning about refrigeration and air conditioning.
“I became a fridgie, by working with my dad growing up as a kid," he says.
It was a natural progression for Adam who completed year 12 and went straight into an apprenticeship. The 21-year-old says each day is different not knowing what the next job will be.
“The variety keeps it interesting,” Adam says. “The challenging part of my job is electrical fault finding but it’s the troubleshooting part of the job that keeps it interesting and varied.”
Put simply, Adam says he wakes up not knowing what the day will bring. It is the opportunities to learn and develop new skills that keeps Adam engaged.
“My plans for the future are to complete my apprenticeship and continue to further my knowledge about the trade,” he says.
