Hiflow Integrated Services Group apprentice, Joshua Sutherland, began searching for a trade straight out of high school.
“I thought I would become a sparky, but stumbled upon an opportunity to be a fridgie,” he explains.
“I had no idea about the trade, I didn’t even know what it was at the time but I am so glad I committed to it.”
Joshua enjoys the satisfaction that comes with completing a job and the camaraderie with workmates.
What about all the book work and theory? The 20-year-old says he hasn’t had any problems with the study although some of the electrical work can be challenging.
“I think the hardest part of the job is waking up in the morning,” he jokes. Joshua doesn’t have any big career plans at this stage.
“I want to get qualified and finish my apprenticeship then I will see where life takes me.”
