Always Cool Air Conditioning & Refrigeration apprentice, Bailey Loenneker, is a WorldSkills champion.
The 21-year-old Queensland-based apprentice won the silver medal at last year’s national championships.
Bailey followed in the footsteps of his father who is also a technician.
“The best part of this job is the variety, plus there is plenty of travel and opportunities to do different things,” Bailey says.
“It is a challenging profession. I think the hardest part of the job is dealing with customers.”
Bailey doesn’t have a problem with the technical aspects of the trade and would like to continue his studies in mechanical engineering.
“Right now I do a lot of air conditioning work but would like to do more in commercial refrigeration in the future,” he says.
