Airvision apprentice, Nathanial Verhoogt, found out about the trade when his mate secured an apprenticeship.
“Speaking to him about his apprenticeship made me interested. I decided it could be a great career and I was right, the work is actually fun,” he says.
The 20-year-old apprentice loves the constant learning and working with other chiller technicians.
“We have a great team,” he says. Nathanial admits certain tasks can be challenging, especially when multiple problems arise simultaneously.
“When troubleshooting a methodical thought process is required, potentially extending the time needed to fix the initial problem,” Nathanial explains.
He hasn’t made any firm decisions about his future except to finish his TAFE studies and apprenticeship.
“Then I will see where it takes me and what opportunities I can explore,” he says.
