With R32 refrigerant becoming more prevalent in imported split-system air conditioning, Rothenberger A/NZ has developed a new intrinsically safe vacuum pump specifically for R32 refrigerant.
While R32 refrigerant is classified as a low flammable A2 refrigerant, it still requires specific equipment in order to minimise the risk of any potential ignition.
The new pump is similar in design to existing models, though the centrifugal switch and other electrical switches have been replaced with intrinsically safe ones, ensuring the potential for electrical sparking or other ignition sources are removed.
The R32 compatible vacuum pump is available this month and will be backwards compatible with all other synthetic refrigerants currently used in the market, including R410A, R134a, and R404A.
