Go Distribution has announced the availability of a retro-fit product that simplifies the change from R22 to new HFC
refrigerants.
Super Change is a co-solvent product that creates a strong compatibility link with HFC refrigerants and mineral or
alkylbenzene oil.
Its formulation utilises all three chemical forces that enhance solubility. Cliplight Manufacturing R&D director, Paul Appler, said solubility is the capacity to dissolve one component into another resulting in a homogenous or uniform composition.
He said Super Change creates this solubility by linking HFC refrigerants and mineral/AB oils.
“This solubility eliminates the need to change out oil, line set flush conversions, and improves oil return with HFC
drop in and retrofit refrigerants when used on mineral oil systems,” Appler said.
“Super change has two more added benefits. It prevents lubricant breakdown and rejuvenates o-ring elastomer and
gaskets, eliminating the need to replace them when switching to an HFC refrigerant. Super Change’s antioxidant
additive feature prevents lubricant breakdown.”
When a lubricant is exposed to excessive heat generated through mechanical stress, the oil will break down and
form free radicals which will react, forming deposits and acids.
“The antioxidants in Super Change stop the generation of these free radicals, preventing breakdown of the oil,”
Appler said.
