Schneider Electric will no longer distribute Broad absorption chillers in Australia.
Schneider Electric Buildings Australia acquired the assets of Energy Conservation Systems (ECS), on June 30, 2011, including the distribution agreement for the Broad range of absorption chillers from China.

After monitoring, Schneider said it came to the realisation that the Broad distributorship was not aligned with its business focus and strategy. The company has decided to terminate the distribution agreement as of March 2012, when Schneider Electric will no longer be in a position to quote or offer technical guidance with respect to Broad chillers.

The company has agreed to facilitate contractual warranty issues on behalf of ECS.

Any dispute outside Schneider Electric’s direct contractual obligations would need to be addressed between ECS and the respective customer. In the future any engagement associated with Broad chillers sold by ECS will need to be addressed directly with ECS.

In a letter to customers, Broad International’s general manager, Jerry Nie, announced the company’s intention to establish a presence in Australia, including the immediate dispatch of technicians to provide direct support for existing and future customers.

Schneider Electric will connect all enquiries with the appropriate Broad personnel when established.

Broad said it was keen to maintain its reputation in Australia and has appointed a dedicated resource to address these matters.
