The GEA Küba gastro slim FM air coolers are set to be released next month to meet the high demand for a product with exceptional extra-slim design features.

GEA Heat Exchangers said it can be used for natural refrigerants as well as HFCs in cooling counters, food storage units, and cooling tables.

Bottles and kegs are usually kept at +6°C in cooling counters whereas cooking ingredients require temperatures in the range of +2 C to – 20 C. In all cases, it is essential to maintain the stipulated storage and stocking temperatures.

High ambient temperatures as well as frequent opening of cabinet doors impose high demands on refrigeration equipment.

Highly efficient heat exchangers and forced supply of cold air in storage cabinets and cooling counters are therefore critical for efficient, reliable, and safe cooling.

The gastro slim FM is the mighty mini for those particular operating conditions in cooling counters, food storage units, and cooling tables.

They can be side-mounted with a single sided air discharge, as well as behind a center column with discharge to both sides. With an installed width of only 75 mm the unit cooler can fit behind centre columns in most, if not all, cooling counters.

Depending on the other equipment installed in the cooling counters, gastro slim FM coolers are available with horizontal or vertical air discharge.

In all versions, the patented air straightener assures uniform temperature distribution in cooling counters and considerably shortens cooling times.

For applications requiring temperatures down to –30°C, it is possible to retrofit an electric defrost with little effort. Completely finished with a hygienic powder coating, the GEA Küba Green Line gastro slim FM is suitable for use with sensitive as well as acidic products such as marinades and tropical fruits.

The gastro slim FM to be released on July 1, 2015 has three model sizes and cooling duty ranging from 0,11 to 0,23 kW. This new air cooler for cooling counters, chills and holds air inlet temperatures between – 25 °C to +20 °C.

Standard versions of these models are prepared for operation with all widely used refrigerants. The coolers have been optimized to meet the diverse requirements of the developing CO2 system designs; variables include transcritical, subcritical and standing pressures up to 60Bar.
