Mayekawa Australia recently launched the air-heat-source CO2 transcritical heat pump Unimo at Sydney’s Food Pro 2011 exhibition.
Unimo applies Mayekawa’s latest engineering in heat pump technology to achieve combined heating and chilling COPs of up to eight.
Mayekawa is focused on the use of natural refrigerants and Unimo is a prime example of the advantages to be gained using CO2 as the working media. Mayekawa Australia’s sales and marketing manager, Luke Gardiner, says “we received strong interest from industry for the energy efficiency potential of our heat pumps, particularly due to Mayekawa’s heat pump experience in Europe and Japan.”
Key features include: heating capacity up to 100kW delivering 65°C and 90°C hot water; chilling capacity up to 100kW delivering chilled water down to 5°C; natural refrigerant CO2; 25kW motor delivering COP of up to four heating and up to four chilling.
The package adds up to a reduction in energy costs and with a low physical footprint due to the use of CO2 refrigerant.
