Heatcraft A/NZ director of sales, Leon Miller, has announced his retirement.

Miller began his HVACR career as FC Lovelock, Canberra branch manager in 1984.

In 1989 he moved to Queensland and in 1991 commenced his career with Kirby Refrigeration as an account manager.

He was promoted to the role of Kirby NSW state manager in 1999 and in 2003 was again promoted to national manager, Lovelocks relocating to Melbourne. Between 2002 -2004 Miller helped the business transition from Lovelock and Kirby to Heatcraft Australia.

In 2004, he was appointed general manager for sales, Heatcraft A/NZ. Miller has made many contributions to the Heatcraft business that extend beyond generating revenue and profit.  He oversaw the introduction of the Customer Relationship Management system and account management sales process, which increased the company's field sales capabilities.

With customer focus a constant priority, Miller also led the implementation of the Customer Promise philosophy, for all employees to understand the importance of the customer in day to day operations.

"While it would be an understatement to say that I have seen and been a part of many changes to our business and the industry in my career, the thing that has remained constant is the willingness of people to be positively involved and supportive of each other," Miller said.

“I have been fortunate enough to have worked with some outstanding individuals. Being a part of their growth and development have been some the greater highlights of my career”.

Miller and his wife, Fiona will relocate to their new home on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, where they will spend more time with their ever growing family, currently consisting of 17 grandchildren.

Miller has also retired from his role as director on the ARBS Board and chairman of the Australian Refrigeration Wholesalers Association.
