Last week’s return of the Chillventa refrigeration and air conditioning show exceeded expectations, with the organiser reporting an attendance of 30,773 at the end of the three-day event.
While the attendance at the show, the first held since Covid, was down 13 per cent on the record 2018 Chillventa, it exceeded the expectations of the organiser, which had predicted 28,000.
In addition, it outperformed other competing events held this year and suggests that exhibitions remain relevant to the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
Despite an obvious reduction in visitors from the Far East, the exhibition retained its international status with over 56 per cent of the audience from outside Germany.
Exhibitors were down 17 per cent this year from 2018, but of those who attended, 94 per cent were said to have regarded their participation at Chillventa as a success. The majority of exhibitors came from Germany, Italy, Turkey, Spain, France and Belgium.
“We are extremely pleased with more than just the numbers for what has been first live industry meeting in four years,” said Petra Wolf, member of the executive board of organiser NurnbergMesse it its post-show report.
The next Chillventa will take place in Nuremberg from 8-10 October 2024.
