Airius Oceania can help businesses reduce their heating and cooling costs by up to 35 per cent with its new Air Pear thermal equalisation fans.
Airius Oceania CEO John Brodie said Airius had helped hundreds of businesses make reductions in their energy usage and carbon emissions by installing the fans.
"As everyone knows, cold air falls making hot air rise," Brodie says.
"Our Air Pear fans help circulate the air, to prevent it from forming temperature layers. This helps optimise the performance of existing air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems and equipment.”
Brodie said the fan system could significantly reduce cooling and heating costs as well as related energy costs and carbon emissions by up to 35 per cent in most air conditioned or heated building types.
"Building temperatures are equalised within 48 hours of installation,” he said. “The equalised temperatures and air circulation capability maximises the efficiency of the air flow system, satisfying the thermostat and stopping cooling and heating systems over delivering, which reduces energy costs immediately.
"Installation is easy. The Air Pears are designed to work alongside existing heating and cooling systems. They are quiet and maintenance requirements are minimal.”
The technology can support a range of commercial users, from cold storage and freezer rooms to retail stores and shopping centres, car showrooms, manufacturing plants, aircraft hangars, factory warehouses, schools and offices.
It has also provided benefits for sporting venues, greenhouses, indoor pools and churches, Brodie said.
Air Pears recently fitted at a large retailer in Victoria were already proving themselves with energy savings of up to 30 per cent achieved on warmer days, he said.
"The levels of efficiency rose as the outside temperature increased and on a recent 41.6 degree day, the Air Pears reduced the store's overall energy use by 25 per cent.
"Average overall store energy savings across the year is assessed by our customer to be 22 per cent in Melbourne and 25 per cent in Brisbane. The store trial has been so successful another two stores of Air Pears are being installed.”
The technology has been used widely overseas and Airius Oceania is the exclusive importer into Australia.
Brodie said that in most installations, returns on investment were achieved in under three years and in some cases as few as three months.
The company has recently joined Energy Smart Finance, a new program from Low Carbon Australia and FlexiGroup that offers small businesses access to both the vendors of energy efficient technology and upfront finance to support the cost.
"By joining Energy Smart Finance, we’ll be able to offer our customers access to upfront finance to get them saving sooner,” Brodie said.
Low Carbon Australia CEO Meg McDonald welcomed Airius Oceania to the program, which now offers a range of energy efficiency solutions including improvements to lighting and air conditioning as well as power factor correction units.
Low Carbon Australia is an independent company established by the Australian government in 2010 to deliver innovative programs to help the move towards a low carbon economy.
