Unifrax and Trafalgar have partnered to bring Fyrewrap duct fireproofing systems for commercial buildings to the local market.
Fyrewrap is a lightweight, clean and easy to install fireproofing material for ductwork. It negates the need for messy spray ducting with fireproofing materials, thus eliminating the time-consuming need to cover the area to avoid overspray.
It can even be applied off-site prior to installation as it is around 20 per cent lighter than fire spray-finished product. In today’s environmentally conscious market, Fyrewrap comes with the benefit of providing added R value for thermal resistance.
Fyrewrap consists of a high temperature and fire-rated insulation material encapsulated in a foil finish. It comes ready to use as a foil finished roll to wrap around the ductwork of any configuration.
The result is a fast, simple, cost effective and clean fireproofing method which provides pleasing aesthetics.
Other trades can work in the same area as the Fyrewrap is being installed, making it beneficial for project work, planning and resource management.
Fyrewrap is used to provide one- and two-hour protection for fire-rated ductwork in commercial buildings where fire rating and FRL requirements are necessary.
Applications include smoke exhaust ducts, kitchen exhaust ducts, grease ducts and supply air ducts for zone pressurisation systems.
Also available is Greenguard with microbial resistance and other wrap systems for cable fireproofing and fire stopping applications.
