After 20 years with the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors Association (ACMA), the executive director of Victoria, David Eynon, is retiring.

The announcement was included in the AMCA's weekly newsbrief ending March 29, 2013.

"After 20 years as Executive Director of Victoria I will be stepping down from the position effective from the end of this week," Eynon said.

"I want to express my thanks and appreciation to all our members and their employees, past and present, who I have worked with over the journey.  There are simply too many people to mention by name.

"I have really enjoyed the opportunity to serve the members.  Staying 20 years in one position is a long time.  No one does so if they are not enjoying the work.  But there does come a time when it is appropriate to step aside and that time has arrived."

Eynon's contribution is impressive and he leaves the AMCA Victoria in good shape.

The membership satisfaction survey conducted in 2012 found in excess of 90 per cent of the people surveyed said that in their most recent contact with the association they were satisfied with the outcome.

The survey also found there are no services members want which are not already being provided.

"From April 1, 2013, I will continue to work with AMCA on a part-time basis but dealing only with national council matters," Eynon said.

"Once again may I thank all those people who I have worked with.  I have enjoyed providing services to members."

An AMCA project that is generating a lot of interest is the development of the Refrigeration and Climate Control Centre of Excellence (RCCC).

The initiative is a partnership between the AMCA and Box Hill Institute (BHI) of TAFE.

The centre will be located at the BHI's new Integrated Technology Hub building development that is due for completion in July 2013.

Details of the next stage of the RCCC will be announced at an event held on May 15, 2013 which will be attended by the Victorian Minister for Higher Education, Peter Hall.
