Emerson Climate Technologies has introduced a new mid-sized refrigeration compressor (1 to 4 hp) targeted at convenience stores, restaurants and food service establishments.
The new Copeland Scroll ZSKA compressor delivers an improved energy efficiency rating (EER) of up to 15 per cent when compared to competing reciprocating compressors.
Possessing a wide operating envelope (from -25F to 45F) for low through high temperature applications, the ZSKA compressor is compatible with a variety of refrigerants, including R-404A, R-507, R-134a, R-407A/C and R-22.
Emerson’s food service marketing director, Jason Prenger, said because the new ZSKA is quieter and more efficient than competitive models, it is ideal for use in food service applications including soft serve ice cream and frozen carbonated beverage machines.
Within the past few years, industry standards and government regulations for higher energy efficiency have become more prevalent in the commercial refrigeration market.
“As the food service industry is faced with more challenging performance requirements, the new ZSKA compressor is another example of Copeland Scroll technology achieving the efficiency and reliability that customers demand,” Prenger said.
