The ANZ Tower in Sydney has received six stars in office design by the Green Building Council of Australia, the country’s highest environmental rating.

The 44-floor skyscraper, which has a 6 Star Office Design v2 rating, showcases the latest in building controls and technology.

It is controlled by sensors and managed at the touch of a button or even remotely with ABB’s i-bus KNX intelligent building control system.

It enables the integration of lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, window shading, security and comfort controls with energy measurement.

Rainer Baumann, global manager for ABB’s building automation product group, said ANZ Tower boasted high-efficiency chillers, a trigeneration plant, thermally shielded and automated facade and rainwater harvesting.

The roof design and the highly glazed façade provides extra levels of light throughout the building.
