It was time for a makeover, so here it is your “new look”  – CCN

The redesign was undertaken to give the magazine a more modern, fresh and cleaner look. Personally, I think it has achieved all three.

It not only looks better but the new format makes for an easier read. Drop me an email and let me know what you think, all feedback is appreciated.

It feels like I am announcing something new every month, probably because I am.

Last month it was volume 2 of the Cool Book, then there was the big announcement about our very first full day conference, CCN Live.

Last year the focus was on the CCN web site and getting the weekly online newsletter operational.

Now its the redesign. I should probably warn you that this momentum isn't likely to slow down any time soon. But there is a purpose to all this activity.

I suppose it could be called a grand plan. Think of an Octopus and it will all become clear. Think about all of those tentacles, reaching out, providing readers with more opportunities to exchange information.

CCN is providing readers with more avenues in which to interact by providing a range of different news formats.

For example, the web site is fine for those wanting daily news updates while the magazine is the perfect format for more detailed features.

Then there is CCN’s Facebook page which is currently in development. This is where I can publish information of a different kind, its an opportunity to have a more personal rapport because I can publish bits and pieces not really suitable for the magazine or web site.  This is one format that will be a lot of fun.

If I am backstage at a news event and I want to share information that could never be included in a news story then Facebook is perfect. It also provides a forum for real-time chat and feedback.

And finally, there is CCN Live, the full day conference to be held on Friday, August 9, 2013, at Doltone House in Sydney.

Now this is where the most important news stories can actually come to life. Readers will have the opportunity to debate the most topical stories live on-stage.

Since announcing CCN Live interest in the event has been much greater than we initially anticipated. The one problem with the conference format is that numbers are limited.

Readers interested in attending should book early and get tickets now while they are still available. Preparations are well underway so I will be able to announce the special guest speakers in the next issue of the magazine.

Yep that's right, more announcements.....
