Xiaomi refrigerators and washing machines will now use Embraco compressors and Nidec motors after the two companies inked an agreement last week.
Nidec Global Appliance head of the home appliances business segment, Ricardo Bristotti, said Xiaomi always pursues the best technology in the industry, and this agreement recognizes the leading market position of Nidec.
The new Xiaomi smart refrigerator 630L Mijia uses the Embraco variable compressor VES.
Embraco compressors uses natural refrigerant R600a (isobutane), which does not harm the ozone layer and presents global warming potential close to zero.
Embraco is recognised worldwide for its innovative technologies.
All of the brand’s compressor lines provided to Xiaomi are variable speed, which is the most energy efficient technology for refrigeration compressors.
Nidec Global Appliance will also provide to Xiaomi a line of direct drive (DD) motors for horizontal washing machines, which have low noise.
Nidec Global Appliance produces and sells its own controls, which are manufactured in its facilities in China, a logistical advantage for this partnership.
The first Xiaomi washing machines with Nidec Motors are expected to be launched in the next few months.
