Munters and ZutaCore have formed a strategic alliance to support data centre cooling innovation

This strategic alliance enables a more sustainable value chain in data centre cooling. ZutaCore is one of the leaders in direct-to-chip, waterless liquid cooling solutions for data centres.

Munters and ZutaCore, will integrate Munters SyCool systems with ZutaCore’s advanced 2-phase liquid cooling technology.

The aim is to tackle the challenges of managing AI-generated heat more efficiently and sustainably.

The result will be a system that optimises performance, from chip level dissipation to all parts of the heat rejection cycle. It also eliminates the risks associated with potential water leakage.

President of business area Data Centre Technologies at Munters, Stefan Aspman, said that by combining Munters advanced closed-loop systems with ZutaCore will deliver an unmatched end-to-end solution, which is uniquely positioned to meet the demands of high-density, high-value environments.

“As demand for AI and data processing grows, the need for efficient cooling systems in data centres becomes increasingly important. Liquid cooling, in particular, is crucial for managing the intense heat from AI chips while maintaining sustainability,” he said.

“ZutaCore and Munters are pioneering a blueprint for sustainable AI data centre architecture.

“It addresses intense heat loads with distinct advantages through its waterless 2-phase solution, and leads to savings in both CAPEX and OPEX, challenging other cooling technologies available today, he continues.”

Zutacore co-founder & CEO, Erez Freibach, said AI workloads require high GPU density and stable thermal environments to optimise performance.

“This is where 2-phase, direct-to-chip liquid cooling stands out from other solutions,” he said.

“It operates without water, optimizes space utilisation, uses significantly less power, and enables heat recovery, making it the most efficient choice for AI data centres.”

Initially, the alliance will focus on working closely with customers early in the design phase to ensure seamless integration of the combined solution.
