Carel Industries, through its subsidiary Recuperator SpA, has acquired Enginia Srl, an Italian manufacturer of dampers as well as plastic and metal components for air handling units.
Established in 1997, Enginia operates from a 4,700m2 factory and headquarters in Trezzo sull’Adda, near Milan.
Sales in 2020 were €12.3 million ($A19.4 million) with more than 80 per cent of the company’s revenue generated outside of Italy.
Carel is seeking to consolidate its role as a supplier of complete solutions to manufacturers of air handling units.
Commenting on the purchase, Carel Group CEO Francesco Nalini, said the acquisition of Enginia is another important step in the company’s strategy of development by external lines.
He said it adds another production platform to the 13 already existing, making Carel’s offer even more complete.
