KNX has appointed a new president and vice president following an executive board meeting in Dublin.

The KNX Executive Board oversees the strategy, commercial and technical priorities for the KNX Association, which covers more than 500 members, and represents the interests of more than 125,000 KNX partners across 190 countries.

Jean-Christophe Krieger, chief product officer with Schneider Electric Industries S.A., has been appointed president of the KNX Association, following the retirement of Franz Kammerl of Siemens AG who has been president for the past 11 years.

Jean-Christophe has been the Schneider Electric representative on the KNX Executive Board for the last eight years, holding the role of vice president since February 2021.

Klaus Wächter from Siemens Schweiz AG takes on the role of vice president.

Krieger is one of the leading KNX experts in the world, with 17 years extensive experience and expertise.

High on his list of priorities is a commitment to rejuvenate the KNX image.

“We want KNX to be synonymous with ‘peace-of-mind’ to end-customers, KNX partners and manufacturers,” he said.

“With buildings representing 37 per cent of CO2 emissions, KNX is constantly reinforcing its energy management capabilities, to complement the already recognised and well-established automation solutions for buildings and homes.”

Wächter has been an indispensable member of the KNX Executive Board for several years.

“As a standardisation manager, heavily involved with IoT standardisation, I am looking forward to helping define the future of KNX technology and KNX IoT in the coming years,” he said.
