Frese, a leader in flow management solutions, has unveiled two advanced products set to revolutionise HVAC energy management: the OPTIMA Compact Veriflow-series valve and the LOGICA Digital Energy-series actuator.

Designed for seamless integration, these components deliver real-time insights and remote operational control, optimising HVAC systems to achieve maximum energy efficiency throughout their lifecycle.

At the heart of Frese’s innovation is the OPTIMA Compact Veriflow-series, an enhanced version of their industry-leading pressure independent control valve (PICV).

This valve maintains all the benefits of the original OPTIMA Compact, including easy installation, compact design, and high-performance capabilities.

A significant feature of the Veriflow-series is its built-in verification functionality, a first in PICV technology.

The new P/T plug design enables both flow measurement and minimum differential pressure verification without add-ons or extra space, ensuring the system is perfectly balanced and fully optimized with no additional energy cost.

Frese’s global HVAC product manager, Anders Moller, said measurement has become a key requirement for commissioning engineers.

“With Veriflow, they can precisely measure flow within the valve itself, allowing them to confirm that the system is balanced to ideal sizing conditions with no compromise in energy performance,” Moller said.

Complementing the mechanical precision of the Veriflow-series is Frese’s digital LOGICA actuator, the LOGICA Digital Energy-series.

This compact actuator allows building managers to fine-tune energy usage in real time by connecting directly to the building’s management system (BMS) via Modbus or BACnet.

With this connectivity, tasks such as system commissioning and recommissioning, which are traditionally time-intensive, can now be done remotely. This level of control reduces system maintenance needs and offers critical energy savings.

A key advantage of the LOGICA Digital actuator is its ability to combat the common issue of “Low Delta T Syndrome,” a condition where insufficient temperature differential between supply and return water leads to energy waste.

LOGICA’s Delta T control function minimizes pump flow requirements, ensuring consistent energy transfer and optimal system performance at all times.

Jesper Meulengracht, product manager at Frese, highlights the financial and environmental benefits: “Our solution reduces installation and commissioning time, cuts operational costs, and delivers significant energy savings. It’s an investment in both profitability and sustainability,” he said.

Frese’s two-tier solution combines decades of expertise with digital innovation, providing HVAC stakeholders—including system integrators and facility managers—with actionable insights that lead to enhanced operational efficiency.

By streamlining performance and reducing energy consumption, Frese’s OPTIMA Compact Veriflow-series and LOGICA Digital Energy-series empower buildings to achieve greater environmental responsibility while securing long-term savings.

In an era where energy efficiency is paramount, these new products from Frese represent a step forward in the digital transformation of HVAC systems, aligning with both business goals and sustainability targets.
