Built environment professionals will gain unprecedented access to cross-industry education opportunities at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) from 10 to 13 May, 2022.

The speaker series for DesignBUILD, Total Facilities, the Be Summit will all form part of Digital Construction Week covering a range of topics from planning to construction, technology and facilities management.

Over these four days, more than 90 speakers will present on subject matters vital to the future of Australia’s built environment.

While sustainability continues to be a strong focus for discussion, other hot topics include the latest innovations in technology, the future of hybrid workforces and essential updates on compliance.

Delegates will be offered the opportunity to keep abreast of knowledge in their industry plus delve into new topics and areas of interest in adjacent industries. As the built environment space becomes increasingly interdependent, the importance of broad knowledge is more important than ever.

The event will feature a design & build theatre to address biophilic design, the Passive House movement, going beyond net zero in the built environment and how the design of work spaces will need to change post COVID.

Sponsored by NBS, the Digital Construction Week theatre will cover next generation technologies including Artificial Intelligence for the architecture, design, engineering and construction sectors.

There will be a session on smart contracts and digital twins and when to use life cycle cost analysis.

The Facilities Management Association (FMA) will host the smart buildings theatre which will tackle building compliance, net zero strategies and how to make your building fit for the future.

Be Summit will examine how to build a people-first construction industry, technology in construction, post-COVID CBDs and the future of work.

Sessions held at the Design + Build Theatre, the Digital Construction Week Theatre and the Smart Buildings Theatre are all free and held within the same MECC space on10 to 12  May.

Be Summit is a ticketed one day event held on Friday, 13 May.
