An engineer was killed and two others were injured last week when an air conditioner exploded at residential apartments in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The explosion happened while the workers were undertaking maintenance work on a compressor in one of six central air conditioning units on the roof of the 22-storey Al Yasmine Residential Tower.
A Sharjah police report said the deceased man is a maintenance technician of Asian citizenship, and the injured were transferred by ambulance to Al-Qasimi hospital.
Few details have been released but an investigation is underway.
