Learn how to set up the building blocks required to unlock the potential of digitisation in smart buildings through efficient data utilisation in this two-part presentation.

The presentation, which will be held later today, will provide participants with information on data models, essential for deploying scalable and cost-effective applications.

The first part of the session focuses on the building blocks required for scalable application deployment, covering how to develop a robust data model using VBIS and BRICK for a building with multiple systems covering thousands of data points.

Learn key insights on gathering information, combining metadata effectively, and creating standardised building models.

In the second part, presenters will explain how a standardised building model accelerates the deployment of applications like Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) analytics.

They provide real-world experience of setting up application workflows using building models for seamless application deployment in the dynamic landscape of smart buildings.

Presenters include CSIRO research group leader, Dr Subbu Sethuvenkatraman, who leads the energy business unit.

He overseas smart buildings research related activities at the CSIRO. As part of his current research, he is evaluating ways to use advances in digital technologies to reduce the built environment carbon footprint, evaluating strategies for buildings to grid interaction and concepts for net zero buildings.

His research leadership has led to the development of novel renewable based low energy cooling solutions and a semantic model-based building data management platform that is currently in use by various partners.

The second presenter is T.K. Wang, account manager at Virtual Buildings Information System.

Wang has more than 17 years of industry experience with a focus on building automation and technologies.

He has implemented new technology solutions with a focus on stakeholder outcomes.

Most recently he has been involved in asset management consulting delivering services for VBIS with the focus on data standardisation.
