A regular favourite at ARBS, the Reece Group once again boasted an impressive booth that showcased the breadth and depth of the group of companies that it represents.

Just some of the innovations that visitors got to see included SensR, Tecumseh’s ACPAC A2L condensing unit and R290 compressors, Arlan cabinet coolers, and the Prime brand’s R455A refrigerant.

SensR emerged was a standout innovation, described by Reece group brand lead for refrigeration, heating & cooling, Joshua Casula, as “the missing link in refrigeration monitoring.”

Unlike traditional systems focused on cool rooms, SensR targets the condensing unit, equipped with a quartet of temperature sensors monitoring various unit areas.

This proactive system alerts contractors to anomalies via a cloud-based app, allowing for timely maintenance scheduling.

“It’s designed to be proactive rather than reactive,” Casula said, pointing out that the collaboration between Carel, Tecumseh, and Actrol also means that the solution is quite unique in the market, and filling a very real need.

Meanwhile, the Tecumseh ACPAC A2L condensing unit was another highlight, boasting compatibility with the low-GWP R455A refrigerant, marking a significant stride towards sustainability.

Casula said the unit boasted a massive 96 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to R404a, significantly boosting sustainability while meeting and exceeding the Australian government’s environmental directives.

Another exciting development drawing eyeballs was Actrol’s new label, Arlan.

This was a new brand that had only been introduced eight months prior, with the Arlan Cabinet Cooler making its trade show debut at ARBS 2024.

Designed with installers in mind, Arlan features an ergonomic design, extended pipe tails for easier installation, and a compact yet compatible size for seamless replacement.

It’s also designed to be looked at, with an intelligent, sleek and robust build.

Actrol positions the coolers as ideal for under-bar cabinets, drink fridges, wine cellars and small cool and cool rooms.

It takes up a small footprint, and cleans very easily, so it can be customer-facing for many years.

Lastly, the Prime brand was being showcased in force, with particular focus on the R455A refrigerant; an A2L-classified solution with a GWP of only 145.

This product had already been launched in New Zealand to great success, and Actrol was now priming it for entry into Australia.

Overall, Reece Group and Actrol enjoyed a steady flow of curious visitors across the three days of ARBS:

“Our stand is very open and there’s a lot to see,” Casula said. “We’ve got Kaden on display, Arlan, Codex, Smart Air, Rothenberger, Tecumseh, George Fisher… plenty to talk people through.”

Overall, the Reece Group’s stand at ARBS 2024 was a testament to its tireless and progressive commitment to innovation, sustainability and the future.

Rather than rest on its laurels, this is a company that is always looking to bring new innovation and challenger brands to the Australian market, and has a proven heritage in picking winners.
