At ARBS 2024, the Milieu Labs booth showcased a suite of innovative products designed to revolutionise the way air conditioning systems are managed, both in residential and commercial settings.

The highlight of the booth was the introduction of the Milieu Pro service dashboard, a cutting-edge platform that allows dealers and installers to connect their customers’ air conditioning control systems to a centralised business dashboard.

This integration provides live system data, air conditioning fault codes, and the ability to address issues remotely, meaning that service providers can be proactive in their maintenance and customer relations.

“It’s amazing with these products how many connection points there are,” Milieu Labs founder and chief designer, Kevin Mundy, said. “Now, if any of these points break, you’ll get a red cross on the screen, which means you’ll know immediately where you need to go to fix the issue.

“So if, for example, the customer on the phone says the aircon is not working, just log in to your dashboard and you can instruct the customer on how to fix the issue immediately.”

Meanwhile, The Milieu climate smart thermostat, another key product, serves as the central hub within the company’s vision for smart controls, connecting the existing ZoneMate system to the Milieu Pro dashboard.

Combined, this enormously smart thermostat and suite of products is compatible with approximately 90 per cent of heating and cooling systems, including both modern inverter air conditioners and older models.

The amount of data that the Milieu climate smart thermostat displays is another key feature.

The smart thermostat can measure indoor air quality, tracking CO2, VOC, and humidity levels.

Mundy said that plans are in place to enhance its capabilities further, adding more intelligent features over time. The device can also monitor lighting levels, contributing to energy savings and environmental benefits.

“Hand gestures can be used to turn the air conditioning on and off,” Mundy said.

“It’s a thermostat and environmental monitor all in one.”

With a sleek aesthetic and this depth of functionality, Milieu is positioning itself to play a central role in the smart homes of the future.

ZoneMate, powered by the climate smart thermostat, simplifies the management of zone dampers within air conditioning systems.

It features a learning capability that automatically detects the opening and closing times of dampers, eliminating the need for manual programming. Additionally, it supports thread radio technology for wireless sensors, offering a low-power mesh network that enables smaller sensors and longer battery life.

Milieu’s products are designed with ease of use and customer convenience in mind.

The company’s commitment to innovation was evident at ARBS, where they demonstrated their ability to integrate multiple connection points seamlessly to create a cohesive and user-friendly ecosystem for air conditioning management.

With the upcoming launch of the Milieu Pro dashboard, Milieu is poised to lead the industry towards a more connected and intelligent future in HVAC solutions.
