Technology has led to the creation of the Master Systems Integrator (MSI), a new role that will be examined on day one of the ARBS seminar program.

This session will be presented by emeseye founder, Rob Huntington.

As the emergence of connected devices continues to evolve, so does the role of the MSI.

The role of the MSI should be a continuous engagement cycle with involvement beginning long before a building is constructed, and throughout the building’s life.

This role continues long after construction and commissioning. It involves strategy, design, platforms, IT and engagement models.

Huntington recently founded emeseye to meet the increasing demand for the role of the MSI. The role of the MSI is instrumental in driving integration outcomes of any project with an Integrated Communications Network (ICN) or Integrated Building Platform (IBP).

Huntington has extensive experience with all facets of the building’s digital ecosystem. This includes a thorough understanding of the interoperability of systems in a building and how they interact with one another.

His experience and expertise extends beyond OT and into IT to support the active hardware that allows all devices to communicate securely in a building.

Smart cyber security

Cyber security and the emergence of smart buildings is another important topic to be covered on day one of ARBS.

In this engaging and interactive presentation, LeadingEdgeCyber senior consultant, Mark Carey-Smith, will explain why cyber security should be a critical consideration for any professional involved with the design, construction and maintenance of smart buildings.

He will cover common mistakes, how to avoid them and examine notable incidents that have occurred to date.
