Exemplary Energy managing director, David Ferrari, will present a seminar session on data services for facilities energy management.
The ARBS session will include the production and application of Real-Time Year (RTY) weather and the development of novel eXtreme Meteorological Year (XMY) datasets.
The session will equip attendees with working knowledge of real-time weather data and its use in weather/energy indices.
Ferrari will explain how to apply weather/energy indices to facilities management from calibrated simulations of buildings, HVAC systems and on-site renewable energy systems.
Regular simulations can be used as a tool for energy management and optimisation of operational buildings.
Ferrari will also introduce recent analysis that indicates the feasibility of creating eXtreme Meteorological Year (XMY) datasets which can be used to evaluate risks relating to extreme climatalogical events.
Ferrari is an engineer with a long-held interest in the energy transition, having spent two decades in government, industry and academia supporting urgently needed change.
He first worked with Exemplary as an intern in 2003 and returned in 2021 as managing director. In the interim he worked with the UN regional secretariat as well as state governments here in Australia.
He also managed a laboratory and conducted research with both RMIT University and the BOM.
