Since 2020 a team of researchers at University of Wollongong have worked in partnership with the federal department of industry on a research project to improve HVAC performance through maintenance.

The project included a national survey entitled 'Better Ways to Work: HVAC Repair and Maintenance in Commercial Office Buildings.

This was in addition to three additional research projects that address mapping the decision-making process of HVAC maintenance lifecycle across the mid-tier sector; Identifying common issues in mid-tier HVAC and understanding the barriers to skills development for energy efficiency in commercial building HVACR.

The results of this research will be presented at the ARBS Exhibition.

There will be a panel of speakers for this presentation including University of Wollongong researcher, Dr Chantel Carr, researchers from the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre (SBRC), Dr Matthew Daly and Dr Daniel Daly.

The final speaker is associate research fellow from the University of Wollongong, Dr Elyse Stanes. She is a researcher with the Australian Centre for Culture, Environment, Society and Space (ACCESS).

Stanes focus is on the social dimensions of global challenges, particularly those that sit at the nexus of energy and waste. She also works with public and third-sector organisations to address sustainability issues connected to households, workplaces and communities.
