NJ Dahl Heating and Air-Conditioning contractors can reduce installation costs by 30 per cent by employing the vertical roof curb method.

This method is much cheaper than the conventional exposed ductwork technique, according to the company's managing director, Nick Dahl.

Established in1990, the mechanical contracting business works in the residential apartment, hotel and commercial office space markets.

"We pride ourselves on completing projects to the highest standards, on time and under budget," he said.

NJ Dahl began an association with Lennox in 1993. Over the years, the company has become an advocate of the brand, installing Lennox Landmark and Energence Rooftop units across multiple commercial sites.

"I prefer to install Lennox Rooftop units because of the ease of installation, particularly when used with the vertical roof curb," Dahl said.

Just recently the company installed two Lennox Landmark Rooftop Packaged Units and two Lennox Energence Gas/Electric Rooftop Packaged Units at a commercial sporting warehouse in Canberra.

“What impressed me most about this installation was the neatness and simplicity of the installation. It was by far, one of the easiest rooftop installations I've done," Dahl said.

"Utilising the roof curb technique removed the need for further external ducting, that would have been exposed to the elements and reduced the efficiency of the system.

"I was also able to eliminate half of the roof penetrations, which meant a quicker installation and the reduced risk of potential leaks.

"My staff spent minimal time on the roof, with no hot work required. They easily completed the installation in two hours.”

The solution: The 2100m2 premise was fitted with 2 x Lennox KHA240 Landmark Reverse Cycle Rooftop Units and 2 x Lennox LGH240 Energence Gas/Electric Packaged Rooftop Units.
