Airfirst Air Conditioning & Electrical apprentice, Lara Van Dorssen, didn’t plan on becoming a tradie but she is so glad she decided to give it a try.
“I came across the Airfirst advertisement and decided to apply for an apprenticeship,” she says.
The 18-year-old had just finished school and was unsure about her future.
“It has turned about to be really enjoyable. What I like most is the diverse array of tasks I get to tackle,” Lara says.
“The most challenging part is the theory and some of the subjects we cover at TAFE.”
Lara is yet to make a final decision about her career as she could move into the mining industry or start her own business.
“I haven’t made the final decision yet, right now I am just focused on completing my trade.”
