Australian manufacturer Aira has recently undergone a major expansion investing in new plant and software and employing new staff including apprentices.

This is in addition to expanding its manufacturing facilities to meet increased demand and to facilitate the development of a new product range.

Aira business development manager Peter Churchill said the company maintains a competitive edge against imported products across a range of equipment designed for Australian conditions. As well as being a proud Aussie manufacturer, Aira has been a supplier of commercial and industrial equipment to the Australasian market for over 50 years.

"Aira is excited to launch a comprehensive range of locally built gas and oil fired condensing boilers," he said.

"The FTC Titan range incorporates a super tough 316 titanium and duplex stainless steel secondary heat exchanger with up to 96 per cent efficiency.

"These boilers have been installed at a variety of locations around Australia and can be  manufactured for internal and external applications."

The Titan is manufactured in a range of sizes from 180 kw through to an impressive 2000 kw capacity with full modulating control and a variety of control options to interface with modern day BMS systems.

In addition to boilers, Aira locally manufactures duplex stainless and mild steel buffer tanks, storage tanks and calorifyers in sizes up to 25000 litres, offering a flexible range of flange sizes, ripstop vinyl covers, colourbond or stainless cladding insulation and customised connection sizes and locations to suit every installation.

Aira also locally manufactures a range of well known products such as gas fired heaters, evaporative coolers, HCV (heating cooling ventilation systems), energy recovery systems, air handlers, air dirt separators, fire tube and atmospheric boilers.

In addition, Aira provides radiant tube heating, superray radiant heaters, dosing pots and expansion tanks.

Keen to build on the interest in energy efficient appliances, Aira has been designing and manufacturing energy recovery systems for over 20 years.

Aira supply sensible and enthalpy heat exchangers for units ranging from 70 litre to 9000 litre capacity, in ceiling, stand alone and roof top units for diverse applications including swimming pools, offices, schools and process projects.

"One unique advantage with Aira is as a specialised local manufacturer they can assist in design and construction of units for special applications," Churchill said.

"Notable is the ability to match energy recovery systems with gas fired heating and evaporative cooling systems, heating/cooling coils or DX systems to provide complete modular packages including pressurisation systems for lobbies and common spaces in high rise apartment building applications.

"Aira also specialise in energy recovery units for swimming pools, domestic through to large public pools."

Churchill said Aira is experiencing considerable growth in the indirect evaporative cooling market.

"Aira products are used in locations as diverse as Uluru’s Sails in the Desert through to the iconic  Melbourne landmarks of the MCG and Shrine of Remembrance," he said.

"There is no need to import when you can buy reliable competitively priced equipment right here in Australia."
